  As a future teacher, what made me want to do this career was being able to see students achieve their goals, new reading levels, learning to spell, everything that comes with teaching. The feeling you get when a student is excited that they got a new reading level or the eagerness to learn new things is rewarding to not only you but your student. I’m willing to go to the lengths for any student when I become a teacher. While reading throughout this whole module, I learned words and ways to go about topics. One thing that stood out to me was “authentic caring”. It stated it’s important to have that with students and I think this is something very important to have as a teacher. The lengths that I would go to for my students will always show empathy towards them. I think it’s important to allow a student to express their emotions and be a support system for them. Gender is huge, especially in the teaching profession. One thing that sticks out I think for everyone in the world is we only have female teachers and very few male teachers. One thing I’ve noticed is we view male teachers differently, they have more rules set in place. They can’t be loving, they can’t be giving out hugs. It’s a completely different setting compared to a female teacher. I’ve had one male teacher in high school. The subject he taught was chemistry but he was very standoffish. Never crossed any boundaries. We view female teachers as caring and loving like a mother figure but when a male teacher does it, it’s completely wrong and inappropriate. I think this is unfair because why can’t male teachers make a difference by providing the same but as a father figure? Why take that away. Why is it deemed inappropriate?
